Lilith Fair

Listen, I am not a fan of online competitions where you beg people to vote for you. I'm sure you understand. Today, I am making an exception, because I REALLY want to play at the Lilith Fair in Salt Lake City on July 12th. They are holding a competition for regional artists and the prize is to play a set on stage at the USANA.

Let's be honest, the people who put this competition together could not have made it more difficult to vote. You will have to register as a fan to be able to judge by clicking here. Then you will have to spend time voting through all of the artists. The more time you spend voting, the better chance I will have at winning. WHY SHOULD YOU DO THIS??!!!

If you are either a.) my mother b.) my husband or c.) my close friend then you will do it because you love me. If you are a rabid fan, then you will do it because it will be your chance to hear the finished version of my song, "California" before it releases in August. You will also see a preview of my potential album cover. These are top secret things, you know, but you can have access to them if you spend the time to vote.

Trust me, it will be confusing and it will take a good chunk of your time. If you have questions, you can email me at mindy@mindygledhill.com. I am entering this competition 22 days late with only two days to win it. You will not be able to vote for the quarter finals after May 24th. Click here to vote through Facebook. After you, vote, send me an email telling me that you did and I will email you back telling you how much I love you.

All About Your Heart - Mindy Gledhill - feat. Fiona Brawley

I'm very happy to officially tell you that my album, Anchor, will release on:
August 4th!
I appreciate the many emails that have been sent regarding my song, "All About Your Heart," that was featured on Nie Nie's video. In answer to your questions, this song will indeed be on the album. The version you heard on Nie's video is different, but will also be available to purchase through iTunes when the album releases. For now, enjoy a sneak preview of the song on this little YouTube video I made. The very lovely dancer is Fiona Brawley - the little girl who lives at the studio where I recorded my album.

P.S. If you would like to embed this video onto your own blog, you can get the code by clicking on this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAgF364s2yI

If you would like to embed the music video for "I Do Adore" onto your blog, you can get the code right here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1l00yJDosY

It Takes Guts

Can you even handle how adorable this little guy is? Meet Patrick Hoopes. Patrick was adopted at one week old by Brian and Emily Hoopes. They were informed that Patrick was born with a rare condition called "Short Gut Syndrome" in which 95% of his intestinal tract is missing. The doctors told the Hoopes that Patrick would only live to be one or two years old without a rare intestinal transplant. The Hoopes felt strongly that they should proceed with the adoption and do everything in their power to raise the money for his transplant. Watch this little segment that Carole Mikita of KSL did on Patrick to learn more:

I would like to help Patrick get that transplant. On Saturday, May 22nd, I'll be sharing the stage with my friends at a benefit concert for Patrick. Here are the details:

A Good Day

Today is a good day.

And do you know why?

Because I am back in the studio recording the last 3 songs on my album and Matt Mayhall was available to play drums on them.

I looked around the room in the midst of all the lovely noise and announced:
"This is a beautiful moment in my life. I don't know how much more perfect this situation could be and I really feel like all the right people are playing on this record."

Then Joe said that Apple should make an iPhone app that gives affirmations and you can play it to yourself when there's no Mindy around.

Plus, everyone loves my keytar. What more could I want?

Ok, even more exciting is the fact that this video on my friend Nie Nie is now on YouTube. I was elated to have one of my songs on it. To watch the video, click here, and have a box of Kleenex on hand.

Currently #6 on iTunes!

What is going on around here? Other than the fact that I've been a hermit for the last ten days on break in between trips to L.A. to record my album, THIS is what is going on:

The Kaskade album released today and is currently the #1 best selling album in the Dance category and the #6 best selling album on all of iTunes! I'm really excited to have three tracks on this album, so if you like dance music, help us move up a spot or two and download it here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/dynasty-bonus-track-version/id368057313.

I'll be back in the studio come Monday with more photos and stories about the recording process. Thanks for all your support and comments!

Kaskade Countdown

I really don't know how this happened, but I am featured on three songs on Kaskade's upcoming album. I can hardly contain myself for this album's release (coming May 11, 2010!).

Who is Kaskade? Kaskade is a very influential and respected artist in the dance music world and recording these songs for his album was one of the most exciting projects I've ever done. Right now you can have a sneak preview of one of my tracks from the album by clicking here.

Now get up on the sofa and bust a groove.
