Show in L.A.!

Do you live in the L.A. area? Well, well, well. Have I got an evening of fun planned out for YOU this Thursday! Actually, my friend Jenny Ewing planned the evening, but I am elated to be a part of this holiday party/art show. I'll be singing some acoustic versions of my songs at this event where you'll also be treated with visual delights (FOR SALE!) from local artists, photographers, fashion and jewelry designers. The party is from 8-11PM. I will sing around 9PM. Located at the Lily Kate Showroom, 860 S. Los Angeles St., Suite 503, L.A. (Note: Not a recommended event for children. But date night? Yes, please.) See event details below.

From New York to L.A.

Last weekend, Noni (aka "Mom") accompanied me and Griff to New York City. I couldn't have done it without her. Here we are, on the airplane. Griffin was a champion on the flight.

The first morning in the Big Apple was spent with my dear friend Hailey Smith. If you've ever been to one of my shows with the Thrillionaires improv comedy group, then you've seen Hailey. We caught up over pumpkin waffles at a darling little cafe called "Penelope's."

Later that night, I did a show with Bianca Merkley at Rockwood Music Hall. It was shoulder to shoulder in there. Just the way I like to see a music venue.

Let's ignore my abnormally long neck in this picture and concentrate on how beautiful Bianca's smile is. Let's also ignore the bursting buttons on my dress. At one point when the evening was through, I looked down and discovered that each and every one of my buttons had come undone. What can I say? I just had a baby and "my cups runneth over" when I'm away from him for certain periods of time.

I have never been to NYC without making time for a flea market. I took Noni to "The Garage" to hunt for treasures. She found this vintage quilt top for only $30!

The next night in New York was one I'll never forget. I did a private house concert for Natalie Holbrook, who is best known as Nat the Fat Rat. We squished together in the living room of Nat's apartment and I shared songs with everyone while they ate delicacies such as chocolate dipped oreos and microwave popcorn.

Spencer Harrison played guitar for me and opened with a few of his own songs. Spencer has a voice that will melt you like butter.

I rocked my favorite red boots.

And it was such a treat at the end of the night to get to sing "The Christmas Song" with Natalie. When the show was over, someone came up to me and lo and behold, pointed out that my buttons were starting to come undone during my performance. (Totally different dress this time too!). I think I'll just start to tell people that it's part of the show.
Many thanks to Bianca and the Natalie for helping to set up these shows!

What's on the books for this weekend? I'm performing a sold out acoustic concert at the Queen Bee Market in San Diego!!! Hooray!

Exciting Week Ahoy!

I've been decorating for Christmas this week. I know. It's too early! But this week presents an array of events so juicy in my life that it feels like Christmas morning. Hence, my holiday spirit.

Yesterday, I got news that my song "Eyes" with Kaskade is #1 on Billboard's dance airplay chart. Um. I die. If you haven't heard it yet, here's a little video:

Secondly, I'm OVER-THE-TOP excited to announce that my song, "Anchor" will be on this Thursday's episode of Bones. Yes. The TV show on Fox. Excuse me while I have a hernia.

Next, I will be performing songs from Anchor and Winter Moon this Friday at Rockwood Music Hall in New York City. My lovely friend Bianca Merkley will be releasing her new album at 6:00 p.m. and I will perform at 7:00 p.m. There is NO COVER CHARGE. Merry Christmas!

I told you Bianca was lovely.

And lastly, I put myself out on a limb and asked the ever-popular Nat the Fat Rat if I could do a house concert for her and all her posse while I was in New York. She said YES! And I said WOW! She said WHEN? And I said how about November 12th? Then we started singing Brad Paisley songs and lived happily ever after.

This image stolen from Nat's blog, after she of course, stole the photo of me from MY blog, which photo was taken by the great Wendy Whitaker, and yes, it is also National Run-on Sentence Day.

Passport Fail

Loving this picture of my little guy with Uncle Dusty.

Have you ever booked a family vacation out of the country and arrived at the airport only to discover that your kids' passports have expired? Of course you haven't. But I certainly did last Saturday as all of the Gledhills convened at the Salt Lake City airport for a much anticipated trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. When I discovered my faux pas, it was all I could do not to regurgitate my breakfast.

We stayed at the airport for 5 hours trying to figure out how to get to Mexico. Finally, we concluded that we could make it if we flew to San Francisco to get new passports issued there. It took us 3 days and our life savings, but we finally got the passports by the skin of our teeth and made it for the second half of the Mexico trip. Anything to make make a few family memories, right? It was certainly a trip we'll never forget.
