During the countdown to my CD release concert in a few weeks, I'll be featuring all of the people behind the scenes who were involved in helping me to make this album. Today, I'm jazzed about introducing you to Wendy Whitacre of Blue Lily Photography. You've seen her work all over the internet, gracing blogs far and wide. I actually can't even remember how our paths crossed, but all I know is when they did, the vision I had for the album photos somehow transferred into her mind by osmosis and she shot almost exactly what I had imagined.
Magic.

P.S. Wendy travels all over the map to take pictures of people. She just may be in your neck of the woods soon. I see that Portland, Seattle, Calgary and Utah are all on the upcoming schedule!

ReplyDeleteDear Mindy,
ReplyDeleteI love your album photographs. I have been reading Wendy's blog for sometime and I have to say she does the best work I have ever seen. I really loved your wardrobe for the shoot. I wondered if you would mind sharing where the clothing came from? I live in Tennessee and reading these blogs of you Utah girls really makes me want to visit. Good luck with the new album
S. Rich
Thanks for your kind message, S. Rich! I got the clothing from various thrift and second-hand stores; all of it. I got the glasses in Pasadena, CA at a really awesome store called "Old Focals." They carry all vintage frames. Such a cute place. As for you Tennessee girls, i wished I lived out there! Nashville has all the fun.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are amazing!!! Looks like you guys had tons of fun taking those pictures!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Mindy!
ReplyDeleteI recently became a fan of yours after hearing you in Kaskade's album. After listening to your work on YouTube, I was hooked. And I was also excited to find you're LDS too! I love the cute, modest dresses in your shoot. Anyways, keep up the good work. You have a beautiful voice and I can't wait until your album comes out.
Wish you luck,

ReplyDeleteYou are awesome. I got to take one of the classes from you on Saturday at the Jenny Phillips workshop and you are amazing. I bought your CD and can't stop listening to it. I envy your talent! I am a member of the Jenny Phillips choir and it was cool to hear that you were too way back when. I wish nothing, but the best for you and thanks for taking the time to share your expertise with us on Saturday! I hope I can right lyrics like you someday!!
Thanks!
Steve
