You were fantastic tonight! After a long week this was a great way to spend our date night...laying on a blanket, listening to your beautiful voice! You were definitely the highlight for us!
Mindy....I have to tell you something hilarious....I had your "Sum of all Grace" on this morning. I was listening to " I will rest in You" A totally beautiful song....anyway my 7 year old daughter was eating pancakes while I was doing dishes and she she startled me when she said,
"Mom..what is that song saying? Is she saying, "I'm gonna arrest you?"
Needless to say...I busted up....and informed her.."no honey it doesn't say that." I then procedded to "try" and explain the song...she left the table still confused. Sigh....
There were 3000 at the Scera Shell on Friday night, breaking records for attendance! You were the perfect voice - and the audience loved you. Thanks so much for being so willing to perform.
I just found your blog through Paul's and wanted to hear more of your beautiful voice. I read your post about your son and I was very touched.
As a Mother and a professor of Special Education my thoughts are to team with the teacher and see what you can find out to best meet the needs of your child together. Teachers are on our side far more often than not. Assessments can give a great picture of strengths and weaknesses so we can know how to best teach a child. You will have the ultimate say once the testing is done on how you wish to proceed. But it would be nice to make that decision based on some good evidence.
I would be happy to talk with you more about this if you're interested. (Mother to Mother-I'm in no way soliciting anything here)
You look gorgeous, and I'm for sure making it to your next show. Barbara McBride-Smith performed this morning for the 3rd graders, and was great.
ReplyDeleteThanks Emily!!! Thanks so much for watching the boys today. I hope it went ok.
