Last night, my oldest son overheard me talking on the phone with someone about my upcoming shows in the Pacific Northwest. He got teary-eyed. It's never easy for him when I leave and it honestly leaves me with such a sick feeling in my gut to know that he struggles with that. It's always the saying goodbye that's the hardest part. However, it's interesting to hear from my husband that this particular son does just fine when I'm gone and only gets emotional when I come back. And I would say that according to this video clip below, no one is having a terrible time while I'm gone:
(My husband takes a ride down the conveyor belt at hid dad's warehouse; something our family likes to do in our free time).
I'm looking forward to seeing many of you at these shows! If you have family and friends in the PNW, be sure to let them know I'm coming :-)
3/29: Portland, OR
3/30: Olympia, WA
4/1: Yakima, WA
Also, I think it would be great fun to set up a house concert in Seattle on 3/31 because I happen to have that night off. Send me an email if you're interested in hosting a fun music-filled evening for your family and friends! mindy@mindygledhill.com

Every kid should be so lucky to have a dad who cruises a conveyor belt with a camera! I'm sure it helps a lot when you're gone knowing that your kids are happy and with someone who is willing to get down on his hands and knees and play with them. :)
ReplyDeleteMy kid cries when I leave to go grocery shopping, is fine when I'm actually gone and a blubbery I-miiiiiisssded-you!! mess when I get back. Sigh.
Have a GREAT time in the PNW!!
i'm laughing my head off right now!
ReplyDeleteMindy, I can only imagine how it tugs at your heart to leave, but it's nice to know he's got such a terrific dad to love them when you're away.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to do my best to spread the word about your shows, and I will see you in Yakima!
That's awesome. My family owns and runs recycling centers and growing up it was such a crazy fun place to get into all sorts of trouble (until we got caught!). My sisters and I would ride the conveyer belt for the cardboard baler while it was running. My parents were always so ticked because of the danger involved but we had a blast.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I was trying to find a fan page on facebook for you but only found your personal page. Do you have a fan page set up?
That's cool Chelsea! I definitely have a fan page on FB. I'm surprised you couldn't find it. Copy and paste this link into your browser and it should come up: http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Mindy-Gledhill/23178133045?sk=app_178091127385
ReplyDeleteThanks!
This is hilarious!!! I love it! I'm so excited to know that you're heading to WA! I have family up there so I let them know. You're amazing, Mindy! I think of you every day & hope you're doing well. Off to go listen to your album... again. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mindy! Found it! Now I'll remove my friend request from your page so you don't think I'm a creeper.
ReplyDelete;)
That's why Dads are awesome.
ReplyDeleteWhat about on Bainbridge Island? Courtneys cousin Kim lives here and has a beautiful house on the waterfront. Many members in our ward would love to hear you sing. What do you think?

Hi Mindy!
ReplyDeleteMy friends have put together an academy of sorts where there will be workshops on creating "your great big plan" in our social lives, home lives, and personal lives. I am an instructor, so of course I'm biased by how awesome it will be. But why am I telling you this? Because your music inspired the theme! I just thought you would like to know.
You can go here to check it out.
