Happy Birfday to ME!

Today I am 30.

30 is young.
30 is lucky.
30 is successful.
30 is strong.
30 is healthy.
30 is wealthy.
30 is bliss.

And it just keeps getting better from here.

I never make a big deal about my birthday. But I've always promised myself that I would do something smashing for my 30th birthday. I'm really not one for parties. So, I asked my husband if we could go to Disneyland with our kids over the weekend instead of having a big birthday bash. I wanted to feel the rush of Space Mountain, spin my guts out on the Teacups, smell the orange groves in Soarin' Over California and eat Disneyland churros and frozen, chocolate-dipped bananas. He happily complied and last Wednesday we had bags and car packed and picked up the kids from school without even telling them beforehand that we were going. It was spontaneous, adventurous and downright FUN. I have decided that I need more fun in my life. So my theme of the year 2011 is just plain "FUN." That's it.

In honor of my 30th birthday, I'm making a list of 30 FUN things that I can do this year. I have some really swell ideas, but I'd love your help here. Will you share some of your ingenius ideas with me in the comments section below?

Thanks for all the birthday wishes today on Facebook and Twitter!

xoxo

Mindy

  11. Happy 30th my dear Mindy! I forgot our birthdays are so close. I love your idea for your 30th year full of fun. I think I may need to do something similar. I think you should get a group of friends together to play capture the flag, or hide n go seek in the dark, or laser tag, or paint ball. You're such a cute girl. Congratulations on 30 wonderful years. Let me know if you ever want to get together for some 30 year old fun. :)

  12. FUN is a great word for 2011. Here's what we started doing a few years ago... we calculated when our 'Family Day' was. We averaged each birth month mine, hubby, and princess #1 and princess #2 (Jan=1 Feb=2 etc) to get July. Then the average of each birthday (01+16+22+24/4= 15.75) to get 16. So our Family Day is July 16th, and on this day we go to a park or a bike ride or something fun BUT the highlight of the day is that we have icecream for supper!! The girls look forward to it every year!!
Can't believe you are only 30!! You are amazing!!
