Cocoon Girl

Hi there.  I feel like it's been a while since we've authentically connected.  I'm not quite sure what I'm going through, but I haven't been extremely social as of late.  I am spinning myself a cocoon of sorts and just might stay in hiding for a while.  If you have emailed me, commented on my facebook status, texted or called, I must apologize for my lack of response.  I'm just a little burnt out.  I used to have a series on here called "Fam Friday" and one called "Tree Street Tuesdays," but my zest for meeting my own self imposed deadlines to deliver posts for these series has waxed a tad cold.  From now on I think I'll offer "Tree Street Tidbits" whenever I have the urge, and introduce a family member every now and again.  For the three people that read those series - forgive me.

Sometimes my heart wants to do more than my physical and emotional self can handle.  It frustrates me.  I wish I were Wonder Woman.  But I am Mindy.  And Mindy is pretty wondrous in her own special way.

  3. Mindy is wondrous! I've always thought so anyway. You can do it all! But make a list. And pace yourself. Sometimes my brain feels like it's going to explode with deadlines, ideas, projects, jobs, etc.

    I love you.

  6. Mindy! Can I join you in your cocoon? I often feel like weaving myself in my own too, but I have three little sets of hands that unspin my web! Leave me alone, I want to say sometimes...And Mindy is pretty dang awesome, just being herself!

  10. You are so right! You ARE wondrous! You just drip with talent! You have more talent in your pinky toe than most people could ever dream of! And as one of your readers....hang in there! I understand what you are describing. I get the 'cocoon' feeling every now and again too. Maybe it's all the rain lately, or maybe it's because the kids are out of school and the schedules are all out of whack, who knows. Just give yourself some time- you'll be back to normal! I'll be anxiously awaiting your 'Tree Street Tidbits' or any other tidbits you throw our way!

  11. Mindy,
I love your posts but don't be too hard on yourself.
It reminds me of when I decided to take my "Day Planner" and throw it out the window. It was just so liberating while it lasted.
So just work on the quality and don't worry about quanity we are all glad to enjoy all you have to offer.
Don't forget to keep some for yourself.
    We love you!

  13. Mindy:
Sherrie Kilpatrick Van Orden here, in Utah. Remember the Kilpatricks? How I remember the Eureka days! Girls camp when you were 12 was a challenge for me, but you and Michaela always brought a smile to my face. I enjoy reading bits and pieces of your life, especially reading about your family. Whenever you decide to come out of your cocoon . . . I look forward to reading the updates. You are beautiful!

  14. Hi Sherrie! Of course I remember you! That was my only year of Girls Camp, you know. There was no camp in Spain. It's great to hear from you. I'm sorry for any misery I may have caused you as a pubescent and hormonal twelve-year-old :-)

  15. Mindy,
it happens. I swear we are always harder on ourselves than anyone else. And as far as blogging goes, I sometimes think we're the only ones who know we're slacking. Or... maybe that's just MY blog.

  16. There was no misery at all, only good things! You have turned into a beautiful talented young woman. I enjoy listening to your music.
    Have a great day!

  17. Wondrous, indeed. I know we've never met, but from the minute I discovered your voice via the NieNie Dialogies, I have been blessed by your talent. I hope your cocoon is the perfect space to process, grow, and prosper until you're ready to re-emerge.
