A chance to win $50 and a free CD! Read on.

Still formulating my perfect pitch here. Today I read over 3,000 adjectives in an attempt to reveal all the feelings and vibes that I want to create with this music. Here are a few favorites out of the fifty-some that I chose:
  • jovial
  • quirky
  • fizzy
  • aflutter
  • breathless
  • emotive
  • artful
  • lovely
  • goose bumpy
  • lovey dovey
  • dreamy
Now, let's recap on my other lists.

  • Poets: Lorca, Neruda, Frost.

Using these lists only as a guide, I am inviting you to have a stab at writing my pitch. If I use yours, I will send you $50 and a free copy of my album, "Feather in the Wind." Remember, this is short and sweet. Your pitch must be posted by 10:00 p.m. MST, on Sunday night (Jan. 17th.) Some examples of artist pitches from the book are:

John Taglieri - "If Vertical Horizon and Third Eye Blind got hit by Train!"

Devil Doll - "Jessica Rabbit meets Joan Jett."

Leftover Salmon - "Polyethnic Cajun Slamgrass." (I had to look up "slamgrass" too. It's a progressive form of Bluegrass).

Don't hold back. All ideas are welcome! Ready, set, GO.

(Sorry. You must live in the U.S. to participate.)

  1. Somewhere between taking your breath away, and giving you the fresh air you need to breathe. :)

    Breathlessly Soothing and Inspiring!

  2. Mindy Gledhill "Emotively carbonated"

Mindy Gledhill "a carbonated Sarah McLachlan"

  3. Mindy Gledhill "her music will leave you breathless and aflutter. A dreamy Norah Jones paired with the artful and lovely Sarah McLachlan"

  4. Lovely and dreamy musical ambrosia.

I don't live in the US. Oh well. I entered anyway. I'll enter a few more later once I get the kids in bed.

  5. So, are we only allowed to come up with one possible slogan? Or can we try several? (Like some have already done! :)

  6. Her music is like a stroll through a field of diasies on a warm sunny summer day.

  7. "Some pig" "terrific" "radiant" "humble" Oh wait, those have already been used. Where's Templeton when you need him?

I'm terrible at this, but I do like the word "fizzy."

    Good luck!

  8. A breathless, effervescent touch of Allison Sudol, with an ethereal, dreamy sound.

  9. Super fast brainstorm. I'll be back if I think of any more. But for now, here you go my dear ...

    1. Fizzy dreams that leave you breathless
    2. Emotive lyrics, dreamy music, served up with a bottle of fizz
    3. Dreamy songstress that will leave you breathless
    4. Like wandering through breathless dreams
    5. Playfully emotive, Mindy Gledhill will leave you in a breathless flutter
    6. Like goos bumps after a first kiss
    7. Breathless dreams with a twist of fizz
    8. Like floating on a river of fizz

  10. After reading the comments before me I feel like I should come up with something clever, but I have nothing. I'm cracking up over "a carbonated Sarah McLachlan," though.

  11. "Transcendent, Inspiring, Soulful music that stays with you long after the songs have ended."

  12. Silky with unexpected pops of energy, Mindy will make you sigh as you smile.

  13. Mindy Gledhill- a quirky and jovial Lisa Loeb meets the dreamy and emotive Norah Jones.

Mindy Gledhill- the lovely and emotive voice of Mindy will leave you breathless and aflutter.

Mindy Gledhill- move over Norah, take a seat Sarah. Mindy Gledhill's artful, emotive sound will leave you breathless!

  14. Ingrid Michaelson's love meets Sarah McLachlan's dove.

    Alison Sudol-flavored Pop Rocks.

Regina Spektor and Norah Jones do the quickstep.

Priscilla Ahn meets Leigh Nash at a sidewalk cafe.

    (The names are completely interchangeable)

P.S. I'm actually living outside the US at the moment (in Jerusalem) so don't worry about the prize.

    Good luck, Mindy!

  15. Mindy is her music. Sparkling, Thoughtful, and Pure.

  16. I don't think I could beat any of these. I'd be writing something like...

    Mindy Gledhill: awesomeness personified.

But that's just a pitch for you, music or not. In fact, I think you should print up some business cards that say that - just to pass around at school or church.

  17. Silky smooth with a touch of zest, Mindy Gledhill is a dreamy swirl of Norah Jones and Sarah McLachlan.

  18. and by the way, you also fit right in with Colbie Caillat

  19. Witty & oh so pretty, and doesn't sound like an old biddy! ;)

  20. Brilliance, radiance, and style. A hint of Alison Sudol with a dash of Priscilla Ahn, all wrapped in a beautifully unique package.

  21. Blissful sound with powerful lyrics to help simplify a complex world.

  22. Like sitting in front of a Wurlitzer 1015. Beautiful music, awesome bubbles, and gorgeous color changing lights.

  23. Music for an inner sense of being, comfort, hope, and peace.

  24. Mindy Gledhill: Regina Spektor and Norah Jones transported to Alice's wonderland.

  25. Mindy's sound is uniquely her own, with lyrics and song that will sooth and inspire!

  26. I so can't top those ideas because they are fabulous. But I love your music as much as I love watching the Zooey Deschanel cotton commercials. Something soothing to listen to, with a splash of style and oozing with individuality.
    How's that?

  27. Mindy Gledhill: Like a sip of cold Dr. Pepper on a moonlit summer night.

    (caffeine free of course!)

  28. Steve says: Ingrid Michaelson sings happy "Eat, Pray, Love."

  29. Beautifully illuminating, her inspired music sings opens your soul.

  30. Here's a couple of quick ones:

    · A young Faith Hill possessed by the spirit of Ingrid Michaelson.

    · So, if Imogen Heap and Ingrid Michaelson could have a holy love child, and she looked a little like a young Faith Hill? Yeah, that's what Mindy Gledhill sounds like.

    · If Taylor Swift suddenly grew up and matured into a dreamy, indie-pop sound.

    · Imagine if Sarah McLachlan were reincarnated in the form of a young Faith Hill.

    · Like a whisper of Ingrid Michaelson on an indie-pop breeze through gauzey curtains.

  31. Also:

The emotive calm of a Norah Jones stirred with the dreamy tones of a Priscilla Ahn.

    Or something like that... :)

  32. "Its what you get when you mix Awesome with Amazing." :)

That is Pat's own pitch that he is constantly saying to me.

    "An inspiringly jovial, emotional dream."

I picked inspire because the definition I found says -to fill someone with the urge or ability to do something, esp. to do something creative-

Good luck picking one if you do, it seems fun to have everyone writing all these things.

  33. you HAVE to use ambrosial. I think of that word every time I hear your music. No one EVER uses that word.

Mindy Gledhill is Ambrosial...musical food for the gods.

    Definition of Ambrosia: Mindy Gledhill.

I don't care how stupid it sounds...use it somewhere. It's stupid good.

  34. I know this is all over, but I still wanted to contribute, because i received a burned copy of some of your music from a missionary who taught me before I got baptized, and they had titled the cd "Mindy... Like eating peppermint ice cream... it is so good" :) It made me smile!
